Solution UPDATE: 26th June 2010 - We are now able to align our clients with Global Futures who will only require a $500 opening balance.

You can actually trade 2 contracts with $2,500 during market hours with IB and 1 contract overnight.

You can open and close many times during the day to take profits as long as you only have 2 open max at any one time and you have at least $2,500 in your account.

Some brokers will allow you to trade 1 contract with $500 so for $2,500 you would be able to trade 5 contracts although I would not recommend this.
